The Soft Shackle from Bushmen is a rope loop that you can use instead of a metal carabiner for hammock mounting. The rope is soft and light, unlike a metal carabiner. The Soft Shackle carabiner can be used as a connector between the hammock and the mounting rope.

Rope shackle instead of carabiner

Bushmen's soft shackle is made of three-millimeter-thick high-density nylon, and combined with the special weaving technique used to make it, it achieves a load capacity of 1020 kilograms (10 kn). With some prior knowledge, it can be used in many functions instead of a conventional carabiner. At the same time, it is five times lighter than an aluminum carabiner and 10 times lighter than a steel carabiner. The shackle can replace the loops on the ends of a hammock, and the button on the end can be attached directly to the loop of a whoopie sling. To have the shackle always at hand, you can wear it, like a bracelet. The loop length measures 23 centimeters.
