Bushmen's soft shackle is made of three-millimeter-thick high-density nylon, and combined with the special weaving technique used to make it, it achieves a carrying capacity of 1020 kilograms (10 kn). With some prior knowledge, it can be used in many functions instead of a conventional carabiner, while being five times lighter than an aluminum carabiner and 10 times lighter than a steel carabiner. The shackle can replace the loops on the ends of a hammock, and the button on the end can be attached directly to the loop of a whoopie sling.
