This probably best-known high-intensity lamp was developed in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. How it works: Petroleum is passed under pressure through a carburetor, which burns the evaporated fuel in a mantle. The lamp creates a light output of 400 watts (500 HK) with a consumption of only 0.12 liters of fuel / hour. It is made of high quality brass with a shiny chrome nickel coating. The lighting time with one tank filling (1 liter) is up to eight hours. The lamp weighs 2400 grams.
