The THERMO - Tarp™ 4 x 4 meters is the largest THERMO - Tarp™ from this manufacturer. It is dark green on one side and thus absorbs heat well, which can be released inwards via the silver-coated side and can thus warm the body like a rescue foil. Used the other way round, i.e. with the coated side facing upwards, the sunlight is reflected. If you are lying underneath in a hammock or in a tent, it won't get too hot thanks to the thermal tarpaulin.
The special thing about this 4 x 4 meter tarp is the coating. The Bushmen Tarp is not only waterproof like any rain canopy, the Thermotarp is also breathable and has an insulating layer on one side. The air permeability prevents condensation from forming on the inside of the tarpaulin. The upper side of the Thermotarp is olive green and perfectly absorbs the sun's UV rays, while the underside is silver and reflects the heat. This means that the heat from the sun's rays is transferred downwards and you are nice and warm when lying in the hammock under the Thermotarp. The thermal conductivity of the Bushmen Thermotarp is 40 times lower than sand and approx. 20 times lower than grass, so it keeps you wonderfully warm when used as a floor mat, but if you want to protect yourself from the heat, use the Thermotarp with the silver reflective side facing upwards. This reflects the sun's rays and ensures that the room underneath does not heat up as much. The Bushmen Thermotarp can be mounted in a variety of ways using the 26 fixing point loops. The reflective layer helps to dry wet clothing more quickly and can be used as a signal mat in emergencies. Campers also like to use the Thermo Tarp as a heat shield on a tent. If the tarp is placed over a tent with the silver-coated side facing upwards, the sun is reflected and it stays cooler inside the tent. The Bushmen Thermo Tarp is versatile and protects against both cold and heat. The positive properties of the reflective layer can be used in both cold and hot temperatures. This makes the Bushmen Thermo Tarp much more than a simple rain cover. This extra-large tent roof can comfortably accommodate two people in their hammocks or a group of hikers seeking shelter from the sun or rain. - Store in a cool, dry, dark place
- Always ensure your gear (including any cordage) is completely dry before storing away
- Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures (above 40C and below -15C)
- Please keep your tarp a safe distance from fires and naked flames at all times.
- Do not machine wash. Clean carefully by hand only, using lukewarm water
- Prolonged exposure to strong UV light can cause material to weaken
- Ensure the area around the product is kept free of hazards
- Children should be supervised when using this product
- If tent line tensioners are included with the product, please use these or similar ones of the same design. Please do not secure a tarp with an inelastic knot. Strong gusts of wind can otherwise damage a tarp.
