The 3 x 2 meter Thermotarp by Bushmen is the smallest thermotarp of this manufacturer. On the one hand, the waterproof tarp can be used as a rain cover and on the other hand, this canvas tarpaulin with a reflective layer has an insulating function. The Thermotarp protects against heat and cold, depending on which side shows to the sun or the body. At the same time, the Bushmen Thermotarp is breathable, which prevents condensation on the inside.
The special feature of this 3 x 2 meter tarp (size can deviate a bit since tarp is handmade) is the coating. The Bushmen Tarp is not only waterproof like every rain cover, the Thermotarp is also breathable and has an insulating layer on one side. So thanks to its air permeability there is no condensation on the inside of the tent tarpaulin.
The upper side of the Thermotarp is olive green and absorbs the UV rays of the sun, the underside is silver and reflects the heat. So the heat of solar radiation is passed down and you have it nice and warm, if you lie under the thermo steam in the hammock. The conductibility of the Bushmen Thermotarps is 40 times smaller than sand and about 20 times lower than the conductibility of grass and so keeps you wonderfully warm when used as a floor mat.
If you want to protect yourself from heat, use the Thermotarp with the silver reflective side up. This reflects the sun rays and ensures that the room below can not heat up that much.
The Bushmen Thermotarp can be mounted with the 14 loops in different ways. The reflective layer helps to dry wet clothing faster and can be used as a signal mat in emergencies. Campers also like to use the Thermo Tarp as a heat shield on a tent. If you place the tarp with the silver coated side up over a tent, the sun is reflected and inside the tent it stays cooler.
The Thermo Tarp by Bushmen is versatile and protects against both cold and heat. The positive properties of the reflective layer can be used both at cold and at hot temperatures. Thus, the Bushmen Thermo Tarp is much more than a simple rain cover. The well-made tarpaulin is delivered in a convenient storage bag with carrying handles.

- To preserve the strength of the material, avoid folding along the same lines too frequently (change after 10 times)
- Store in a cool, dry, dark place
- Always ensure your gear (including any cordage) is completely dry before storing away
- Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures (above 40C and below -15C)
- Please keep your tarp a safe distance from fires and naked flames at all times.
- Do not machine wash. Clean carefully by hand only, using lukewarm water
- Prolonged exposure to strong UV light can cause material to weaken
- Ensure the area around the product is kept free of hazards
- Children should be supervised when using this product
- If tent line tensioners are included with the product, please use these or similar ones of the same design. Please do not secure a tarp with an inelastic knot. Strong gusts of wind can otherwise damage a tarp.
