The fabric of the Cacoons was originally developed for the high demands of the marine and camping industry. This new type of furniture was designed by a team consisting of professional sailcloth makers and experts in textile technology. The idea for the drop-like shape of the hanging cave comes from nature itself. The designers were inspired by the weaver bird during a vacation in Mexico. This bird builds its elaborate hanging nest from pliable plant fibers, wool and feathers. Lightly hanging from the trees, they sway in the wind and yet are extremely durable.
The cotton-polyester blend is waterproof, uv and mildew resistant. The material feels naturally soft on the one hand and offers the robustness and durability of a high-tech fabric on the other. This allows this hanging chair to be hung outdoors as well as indoors. Cacoons are weatherproof and can withstand wind, rain and sun. They have been tested in a wide variety of environments. In the garden, in the forest, by the sea and they hang everywhere: on the terrace, on ships, in gyms, spas, wellness hotels, adventure playgrounds and at home.
The assembly is simple and safe. The large hoop that gives shape to the Cacoon comes in eight individual pieces. These must be put together and inserted into the fabric. For the assembly, a 4 meter long rope and a carabiner is supplied. This rope can be attached to a tree or wooden beam. The ideal mounting height for the Double Cacoon is 2.8 meters, the minimum mounting height is 2.45 meters. All around you should ideally have space of about 2.55 meters, but at least 1.9 meters. This way you can swing unhindered without touching furniture, walls or anything else. The Cacoons can be washed cold in the washing machine or hanging with warm soapy water.
